Midwife Amy Olson

Meet

Amy

Amy became a licensed midwife to empower mothers and return birth to women! Using evidenced-based, natural birth techniques, she offers quality, personalized, comprehensive prenatal, birth & postpartum care for home birthbirth center  and water birth. She inspires and educates mothers to make informed choices in their own health. She trusts in a woman's body and has faith in the natural process of pregnancy and restoring normalcy to birth.

Amy adores her family which includes a doting husband, 6 active children, her supportive parents and a fun-loving Alaskan malamute.  Amy loves mothering, home-schooling, and exercising. But more than anything, she loves helping her clients recognize their strength and become empowered as they make important choices about the birth and health of their bodies, babies & their families.

Together we work to design individual care that considers the your desires and health while seeking the best evidence based care through education and informed consent.

We know that each mother, pregnancy, labor, birth, and newborn are unique; no two are the same and none involved will ever be so again.

This dedication stems from the Midwives Model of Care as defined by Midwives Alliance of North America (MANA), the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM), the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council (MEAC), and Citizens for Midwifery (CfM)

This model of care translates into collaboration between you and your midwife.   We look forward to journeying with you during this adventure.

Meet Shanlee

Shanlee Robertson became a licensed midwife while on winter vacation.  A surprise home birth came when a precious little one made a rapid appearance before Mom could make it out of the house.  The Doctor, a wonderful provider, arrived just minutes after the birth as Mom and Dad greeted their newest family member.  She returned home amazed, humbled and inspired.  Within a few weeks she had applied and been accepted to an accredited institution to begin formal training.  To this day Shanlee remains grateful for each birth she is a part of; remembering that each is it's own journey.

Shanlee became a midwife to work closely with the women and their families.  She believes that each women possesses her own beliefs, understandings, desires of and for birth.  With that view, each client is treated with compassion as midwife and client work together to design individualistic care.
